Triple Concert: Jared Jackel, Ian Van der Wee, Long Call (July 13)

Experience the "Homesick for Halifax" tour on Saturday, July 13th, when Firehall Brewery and Respect Record & Skate are proud to present three awesome bands... Jared Jackel, Ian Van der Wee, and Long Call! 

Ian Van der Wee: Ian Van der Wee is a Halifax-based singer-songwriter who pairs dynamic live performance with unassuming lyrical strength and tenderness. Shifting from powerful cries to gentle invitations, Ian brings you through the full depth of their experience. In the past two years, Ian Van der Wee has completed two independently managed cross-country tours, released a series of soaring and intimate singles, and is currently in the midst of an ambitious dual-album project: producing two sets of recordings of the same songs with wildly different arrangements.

Long Call: Long Call is alt-folk/indie rock sibling duo Avalon and Landen Moore. A queer ex-therapist and a relatively tall ex-farmer, Long Call played their first live show in the spring of 2022, and since then they’ve been performing to growing audiences in bars, backyards, living rooms, and theatres across the country and at home in Halifax. This year Long Call is releasing their debut album Everything Will Be Alright song by song alongside the music videos from their accompanying self-produced visual album. Long Call’s third national tour will take place in the spring/summer of 2024.

Jared Jackel: Jared Jackel is a Penticton based multi-instrumentalist and producer presiding somewhere inside the otherworldly realm of gothic cowboy psychedelia. Jackel, releasing two hazily ambitious albums under the title of Jared Jackel’s Bad Vibrations, is belligerently experimental-combining a meticulously refined command of bizarro country tonality, with an aggressively original lyricism. Jared Jackel’s Bad Vibrations’ spirited live sets consist of avant-garage, one-man-band style songs backed by foot-triggered bass drones, twangy post-western guitar playing, and retro-jazz drum-machines
